KeNHA listed the diversions that will be used during the closure of the road.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the planned closure of a section of Thika Road for five days.

In a notice issued on Friday, December 6, the section of the Road at Juja Highpoint will be closed to facilitate the construction of a footbridge.

Therefore, the affected section will be closed from Wednesday, December 12 to Tuesday, December 17.

The closures will be effected between 11 pm at night to 6 am the following morning.

"KeNHA would like to inform the public that Thika Superhighway shall be partially closed at Juja Highpoint (Centurion) to enable the construction of the footbridge from Thursday, December 12, 2024, to Tuesday, December 17, 2024, between 2300hrs to 0600hrs," read the notice in part.

Additionally, the Authority announced that there will be a diversion of traffic during the closure period.

"Nairobi-bound traffic will use a diversion behind Lexo petrol station before rejoining back to the Superhighway, while Thika-bound traffic will use a diversion behind Centurion Hotel before rejoining back to the Superhighway," KeNHA added.

Motorists, therefore, are urged to exercise caution when using the areas listed in the notice.

Police and traffic marshals will be stationed on the road to help with the management of traffic.
