Environment CS Aden Duale has announced the dissolution of the Kenya Water Towers Agency (KWTA).
In a statement dated Friday, December 13, the CS indicated that the agency had ceased to exist following the move of the government to reduce the number of state corporations.
Duale, further, explained that the agency had overlapping roles with other agencies, hence the need to dissolve it.
"In the environment sector, KWTA's role overlapped with the mandates of institutions such as Kenya Forest Service (KFS), Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) and the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA)," read the statement in part.
