Motorists have been warned against using the Nairobi-Nakuru highway due to heavy traffic congestion being experienced at a section of the highway.
In a statement on Friday, December 20, St. John Ambulance indicated that there is a traffic snarl-up along the Limuru to Mahi Mahiu stretch and also between Kimende and Flyover.
"There is heavy traffic congestion along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway between Kimende and Flyover and also along the Limuru - Maimahiu stretch. Avoid the area if you can," read part of the statement.
In photos and videos obtained by Nairobileo.co.ke, traffic was at a standstill as vehicles overlapped, blocking the oncoming lane and making it inaccessible.
Some motorists and travellers were seen stepping out of their vehicles, leaving them stranded on the road.
