A 29-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, January 21 after police uncovered body parts in his bag during an early morning patrol.
In a statement by the National Police Service (NPS), the man was walking in Huruma at around 5 a.m. when he encountered the police.
During a search conducted on his bag, police discovered body parts, resulting in his arrest.
According to the police, the man confessed to killing his 19-year-old wife. Owing to his confession, detectives visited his house to establish more facts about the crime.

"He led the officers to his house where more dismembered parts were recovered from beneath a bed," read the statement in part.
"Also recovered from the crime scene was a blood-stained kitchen knife and female clothes suspected to have been the weapon of murder and cloths for the deceased respectively. The floor of the house was really stained with blood."
Meanwhile, detectives have launched investigations into the murder following the discovery of the body parts.
The body parts have been moved to the City Mortuary awaiting postmortem analysis. The motive of the murder is yet to be established, but the suspect is in police custody," NPS added.
