Ministry of Health Director General Dr. Patrick Amoth is the first Kenyan to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Dr Amoth received the jabbed on Friday in an event attended by MoH Principal Secretary Susan Mochache and other medical officers.
The second person to be vaccinated was Dr Evanson Kamuri; the CEO of Kenyatta National Hospital.

A nurse at Kenyatta National Hospital and Dr Collins Tabu (head of immunization and vaccine in the Health Ministry became the third and fourth Kenyans respectively to receive the jab.
Reports indicate that after being vaccinated, the above listed were requested to sign a consent note, and are required to rest for at least 30 minutes before being let loose.
Speaking during the vaccination exercise, PS Mochache noted that the exercise is now set to be rolled out to county referral hospitals across the country.
She emphasized that healthcare workers will be given first priority.
"It is our responsibility yo ensure all the health care workers get support. This may mark the beginning of the end of the pandemic," PS Mochache said.
