Yesterday, March 20, 2021, police seized CCTV footage that showed Velvine and Joseph Murimi, the key suspect in her murder, check into a room at around 9 pm.
Velvine was found lying unconscious in the room the following morning and succumbed after she had been rushed to the hospital.
Murimi alleged that he left the room at around 10:30 pm, 1 hour after checking in.
An attendant interviewed by the police yesterday stated that he said he was married and could not afford to sleep outside his home.
Conflicting testimonies have since emerged, with other attendants saying they saw him leave the hotel the following morning.
Murimi is being held by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations pending the conclusion of the investigations.
