Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has hailed President Uhuru Kenyatta and his administration for putting in place adequate measures to combat the spread of Covid-19.
In a Facebook post on Monday night, Kuria compared President Kenyatta to late Tanzania President John Magufuli, noting that the latter’s cold approach to Covid-19 proved costly.
The Gatundu South MP believes President Magufuli did not die of Covid -19 but due to ‘stupidity’.
Kuria argues that while many people criticize President Kenyatta for putting in place measures like the nationwide curfew and the lockdown, the same has saved the country from increased Covid-19 cases.

The vocal MP also had a message for his critics noting that he needed to credit the Head of State for the good work he is done in fighting Covid-19, even if it means he’ll be branded a mole.
“In a country that looks at everything using political and partisan lenses I know this will be misinterpreted and the usual ones will call me a mole. But I have to say this. I believe that Magufuli has not died of Corona Virus. He has died out of an extreme attack of stupidity. And President Kenyatta has handled the pandemic way much more responsibly than we care to credit him. He took very unpopular decisions like lock down etc even as we interpreted his every move as political. Mr President, I salute you. I will always give credit where its due and criticize where necessary,” he posted on Facebook.
