Former Kuria East Member of Parliament Shadrack Manga is dead.
According to reports, the former MP succumbed to cardiac arrest while under treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital.
On Friday the family confirmed the news saying the former legislator passed on Thursday evening.
Mr Manga was rushed to hospital on Monday last week after he became ill and collapsed in the house.
He was the Kuria East MP from 1992 to 2002 before he was ousted by Wilfred Machage.
The late again vied for the Kuria East Parliamentary seat in 2013 and managed to recapture the seat, after which he opted to retire from politics.
Uhuru's Message
President Uhuru Kenyatta mourned the death of the former Kuria East MP saying Kenya has lost a very progressive leader who exemplified the true meaning of service to mankind.
In his message of comfort to the family, relatives and friends of the late MP Shadrack Manga, President Kenyatta said, Kenya and especially the residents of Kuria will forever cherish his contribution to the socio-economic development of the region.
Uhuru said the late MP was a consummate debater whose contributions enriched Kenya’s legislation agenda and parliamentary oversight.
“We have lost a brave leader whose contribution to the country’s economic growth will be remembered for generations to come,” he said.
