A man in Nairobi lost his life on Thursday morning, October 29, 2020, while evading arrest for not wearing a face mask.
The victim was knocked down by a matatu in Chokaa, Kangundo Road while being chased by police officers for not wearing a mask.
Reports also claim that the man had allegedly failed to give a KSh200 bribe to officers.
His death angered area residents who held demonstrations in protest.
Photos from the incident showed a completely impassable road with vehicles blocked on either side of the road.

Covid situation in Kenya
On Tuesday morning police in Mombasa arrested commuters and matatu operators for flouting COVID-19 regulations.
Changamwe police boss Joseph Kavoo said over 100 public service vehicles were impounded during the dawn crackdown.
Kavoo explained that the commuters had no masks and the vehicle operators had not provided them with water and soap to wash their hands.
Yesterday the Ministry of Health announced 1,018 new Covid-19 cases out of a sample size of 6,649.
Kenya now has 51,851 total confirmed cases with cumulative tests standing at 672,771.
