Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has said that Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli has caused the community shame and embarrassment.
In a tweet, reacting to his appointment as the Luhya community spokesperson, Khalwale accused Atwoli of causing confusion across the community.
Khalwale who is an ally of Deputy President William Ruto accused Atwoli of appointing himself to the position he had previous appointed ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi to.
"Never in the fabric of the Baluhyia has one man stirred greater collective confusion, shame, embarrassment & anger than Francis Atwoli. In 2016 he installed @MusaliaMudavadi spokesman, only to remove him months later. He again reappointed him. Yesterday he personally took over!" said Khalwale.
The former senator is seeking to succeed Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
