BBC Journalist Ferdinand Omondi is set to officially wed his longtime girlfriend Caroline Njeri on December 31, 2021 at an invite-only ceremony.
According to an invitation card seen by Nairobi Leo, the wedding ceremony will begin with a Church service at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in South B, followed by a reception at the Karen Country Club.
In August 2021, the two held a traditional wedding ceremony at at Njeri’s parent’s home in Maragwa, Murang’a ‘a County.
The ceremony observed all Kikuyu traditional customs as Omondi given the task of picking his bride from a group of ladies covered from head to toe.
This is usually one of the most difficult tasks in traditional wedding g lady amounts to a fine. In many instances, couples always have prior discussions, where the lady shares hints that can help her man identify her, thus avoiding fines.

"What a beautiful day! Ferdinand Omondi, you are the partner of my choice. May God guide us and light our path,” Njeri posted on social media after their traditional wedding ceremony.

Their marriage journey officially began in July 2021, when Ferdinand proposed to Njeri.
“And now these three remain faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13. She said yes.” Omondi posted on social media while sharing news of his proposal.
“Like Mary in Luke Chapter 1, my soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my saviour, for God has looked with favour on the lowliness of the almighty’s servant.
“Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for the Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is God’s name. God’s mercy is for those who fear God from generation to generation. God has shown strength with God’s arm; #harusitunayo,” Njeri posted after saying Yes to Omondi.
