Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has hit out at his colleagues who attended the Naivasha retreat to discuss the contents of the BBI report.
Speaking on Thursday, Cherargei stated that the senators who attended the retreat were guided by selfish interests.
“My friends had a meeting in Naivasha to speak about BBI. They are senators guided by greed but claim to discuss the affairs of Kenyans. We need to sit down and agree on issues that affect Kenyans," said Cherargei.
He dismissed the report over proposals to create more seats.
The first time senator further hit out the team behind BBI for not involving the grassroots in understanding the report's contents.

The lawmaker stressed that the report should focus on youth affairs instead of increasing seats.
During the Naivasha retreat, most lawmakers allied to Deputy President skipped the event attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Notably, MPs allied to Uhuru and Raila are pushing for common ground with those opposed to the document.
MPs agreed on the addition of 70 more seats in Parliament during the consensus retreat in Naivasha.
"With the addition of 70 constituencies, the country now has 360 MPs to address the requirements of article 81(b,c & d) and article 89(7)," the document read. This is great news for Kenyans, who have long suffered from under-representation and several whom had made submissions to the BBI steering committee on the need for additional representation," a statement from the retreat read.
The BBI report was formally launched at the Bomas of Kenya on October 26, following a lengthy process that involved an extensive public consultation exercise, followed by a validation process.
The Naivasha meeting aimed to enlighten the participants with the contents of the report ahead of its debate on Thursday.
