Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju has taken a swipe at Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) aspirants for exploiting party leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking in Migori, the Jubilee SG stated that aspirants have the tendency of using images of Raila on their campaign posters at the expense of popularising the former Prime Minister.
“In your cars, you have put the images of Raila and if you don’t organise people to go and register as voters, then it means that you are just exploiting his name
“I am better than you because you already have your seat as the MCA. The people are enough for you but they are not enough for him. He needs those who will register themselves as voters,” Tuju said.
Tuju further noted that Raila did not emerge winner in the 2017 General Elections due to low voter registration in ODM strongholds.

"In 2017, Jubilee won with 1.4 million. Those votes that were dormant here during the 2017 elections were 1.5 million
"Theoretically, if everybody had voted, then there is no way Jubilee would be in government today. That is the truth and that is the server,” he stated.
This comes exactly a week after Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe has said that the party will soon endorse ODM leader Raila Odinga for president in the August 9 General Elections.
Speaking in Murang'a, Murathe explained that the party has settled on the former Prime Minister for the top seat because it has no presidential candidate.
"We will hold a National Delegates Conference where you all know that our party leader is President Uhuru Kenyatta
"At that NDC, we shall ask our delegates to pass a resolution that our Presidential candidate be Raila Amollo Odinga under the Azimio La Umoja movement," he said.
