Deputy President William Ruto has opened up on his decision to settle on Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua as his deputy ahead of the August election.
Speaking on Tuesday, May 17 during the funeral of Rigathi's elder brother James Reriani Gachagua, DP Ruto said that all Kenya Kwanza members settled on Rigathi because he is a God-fearing man.
The DP further added that his deputy Rigathi is a hardworking man and is always concerned about the issues of the ordinary people.
"As a team of Kenya Kwanza, We all agreed on Rigathi as my deputy because of two reasons; one, he is a hardworking man and secondly Gachagua is a God-fearing man," the DP said.

Gachagua's brother, James Reriani died at the age of 78.
"We thank God for the life of our eldest brother and the head of the greater Gachagua family, James Reriani Gachagua who has gone to be with the Lord after a long illness bravely borne. We give glory to the Lord for the 78 years he lived and hold his immediate family in prayer as we embark on arrangements to lay him to rest. May his soul rest in eternal peace," read Gachagua's post,” MP Gachagua announced after his brother's death.
