He listed the promises in a bid to explain that Raila's deal was too good for the Ukambani region to turn down.
“These promises are not Kalonzo’s property to walk away with on our behalf,” Waita tweeted.
The former State House Chief of Staff made the remarks after a meeting with the Azimio Ukambani leaders during which they unveiled the Raila's plan for the region.
Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu and her Makueni counterpart Kivutha Kibwana were among the leaders who met for talks.
Waita said the meeting showed the Ukambani region is likely to support Raila according to his assessment of the deliberations held with the opinion leaders.
“It is clear from the Azimio La Ukambani leaders' meeting hosted this afternoon in Machakos that our people are not boarding the fantasy train to nowhere driven by personal interests at the expense of the community,” stated Mr. Waita after the meetingAzimio affiliated Ukambani leaders.
“The Kamba nation must and will be in Raila Odinga’s government.”
Kalonzo's move to exit Azimio after he was not named Raila's deputy has rattled Ukambani leaders who are affiliated with him.
The leaders have threatened to reach the ballot even as reports of negotiations to bring Kalonzo back to Azimio are in top gear.
