President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto Meet at Safari Park [Photos]

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto on Thursday, May 26, attended the National Prayer Breakfast at Safari park. 

The Head of State was seated alongside Chief Justice Martha Koome and his deputy at the next table. 

DP Ruto was seated alongside speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi. As the session started, the parliamentary choir lead in a song. 

"President Uhuru Kenyatta joins national leaders, the clergy and invited guests at the 19th National Annual Prayer Breakfast at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi City County. 

"The theme of this year's ecumenical event, hosted by Kenya's Bicameral Parliament, is 'transition', and is attended by several visiting dignitaries from Tanzania, Uganda and DR Congo among other foreign nations," part of a statement by State House read. 

Speaking during the prayer breakfast Bishop David Oginde said, "Election season has brought upon us a spirit of fear because of the impact of insults and negative talks we have witnessed sometimes in the past, fear because of the violence that has seen innocent lives lost in the campaign trail."

The theme of this year’s 19th edition of the National Annual Prayer Breakfast is ‘transition’, coming less than three months to the general election. 

The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual ecumenical event offered under the auspices of the Co-Patrons, the Speaker of the Senate, and the National Assembly; and organized by a group of dedicated volunteers who make up the National Prayer Breakfast Organizing Committee.
