DP Ruto recently asked Kesses residents to vote the MP out in the August polls.

Kesses MP Swarup Mishra has cleared the air after Deputy President William Ruto asked Kesses constituents to vote him out in the upcoming general election.

Speaking at a rally in Kesses on Sunday, May 29, the lawmaker said that he had no problems with the second in command.

Mishra went ahead to urge the area residents to re-elect him in the August polls as they vote in Ruto as the president.

"I'm asking you, residents of Kesses, to vote for me as your MP and Ruto as our President,” Mishra told the locals.

Ruto during a rally in Uasin Gishu County, on May 22 asked the residents to vote out the MP. The DP endorsed UDA candidate Julius Ruto for the seat.

"Tuko na mjumbe wetu anaitwa Julius Ruto. Wakati tunafungia virago Raila Odinga aende Bondo, tunafungia virago Swarup Mishra aende nyumbani. Mishra aache kiburi na madharau. Wakati tulimchagua hapa alikua mwembamba saa hizi ata kutembea ni shida," Ruto stated.


Mishra will be seeking to defend his seat as an independent candidate. The Electoral and Independent Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has already cleared him to vie for the position.

The MP was elected on a Jubilee ticket in 2017.
