Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua has said that he does not take alcohol.
Speaking during the 2022 deputy presidential debate on Tuesday, the Mathira MP said that he is a hard-working man who wakes up early to serve the nation.
Gachagua was responding to a question posed by NTV’s James Smart on what kind of deputy president he would be if Kenya Kwanza assumes power after the upcoming general election.
“I come from a background of management and I have a 35 years of experience in public service. I am a hardworking man, passionate, have zeal to serve, I wake up early and I don’t take alcohol,” Gachagua stated.

The Kenya Kwanza running mate further added that he had all the time and commitment to serve Kenyans if he becomes the next Deputy President of Kenya.
Gachagua maintained that he had an idea of what he wanted to do in assisting Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto in the management of affairs of the country.
“I have a fairly good idea of what I need to do to assist my candidate (Ruto) in the management of the affairs of this country, give him back up, be available, move around the country to implement development programmes, listen to people and be available to the people,” he stated.
Gachagua was facing Azimio presidential running mate Martha Karua in the second tier of the deputy presidential debate at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Nairobi.
