Deputy President William Ruto has congratulated his running mate Rigathi Gachagu after Tuesday's Deputy Presidential Debate.
Through a statement on his social media accounts, Ruto hailed his running mate, saying he had proved that he is able and suit for his deputy's position ahead of the August 9 general polls.
Ruto described Rigathi as a passionate, seasoned, and focused leader who is an asset in steering Kenya Kwanza Alliance to victory in August.
The DP threw indirect jabs at the media, saying his running mate had overcome the challenges they have been crying foul over a biased media.
"Congratulations Rigathi Gachagua my very able running mate. Kenyans are confident that in you we have a seasoned, passionate and focused leader to help us steer Kenya kwanza to victory and the nation to prosperity. We thank almighty God na ubarikiwe saaan. Never mind the media," stated Ruto.

This came after Rigathi stood his ground and dispelled any fears that he could fall out with his boss William Ruto after being elected into office.
While responding to a question on what he could do should they find themselves in a similar situation to that of Ruto and Uhuru, Gachagua rubbished any fall-out probabilities, describing his union with the DP as inseparable.
He said they are not suffering from an inferiority complex, something he claimed led to the witnessed fallout between Ruto and his boss Uhuru Kenyatta.
"In my case and Willam Ruto, a fall-out will not happen. Both of us are strong-willed leaders who respect each other and none of us suffers from an inferiority complex. I have a 35yrs of experience in public service, I’m hardworking and passionate, I wake up early, I don’t take alcohol and I have all the time and commitment to serve the people of Kenya" he stated
"In our govt, we will not have time for an inferiority complex. We are inheriting a KSh.9 trillion debt and 6 million unemployed Kenyans, it is unimaginable that DP Ruto and I will digress to petty issues," he added
