President Joe Biden of the United States of America has confirmed attendance by his envoy at president-elect William Ruto's inauguration.
Ruto will be sworn in on Tuesday, September 13, to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta whose second and final term is coming to an end.
He will take over alongside his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
In a communique issued on Saturday, September 10, the White House said the delegation will represent the US government at the event which will be held at the Kasarani Moi Sports Centre.

The US delegation will be headed by Katherine Tai, the United States Trade Representative.
Other members of the special envoy are Meg Whitman who is the US ambassador in Kenya, Colin Allred, Mary Catherine Phee, and Monde Muyangwa.
After the Supreme Court verdict, the US congratulated Kenyans for maintaining peace throughout the electoral process.
Azimio leader Raila Odinga was also lauded for using legal means to pursue electoral justice.
"The United States congratulates William Ruto on his election as president of Kenya, as confirmed by the Supreme Court on September 5. We also congratulate the people of Kenya on the conclusion of a peaceful electoral process," the US said in a statement.
"We look forward to enhancing this partnership with President Ruto and his new government," the statement said.Ruto garnered over 7.1 million votes to be declared the winner of the 2022 presidential vote.
Trailing him was Raila with over 6.9 million votes.
