Equity Bank has issued a statement following a daring daylight robbery attempt at its Nairobi West branch.
In the statement issued on Tuesday, October 11, Equity bank noted that an armed person attempted to gain forceful entry into the banking hall.
"Kindly note that we had a distress incident today morning at our Nairobi West Branch where an armed person attempted to gain access into the banking hall.
"Security agents led by local authorities are currently on site investigating the incident and the branch has been temporarily closed," the statement read in part.
In a video seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, one person sustained serious injuries and was seen being escorted by police officers to an ambulance.

The man is said to have been stabbed while entering the building and has been rushed to Nairobi West hospital.
According to a source who spoke to Nairobileo.co.ke, the robber has been shot down by police officers.
Police officers have also confirmed that the man attempted to grab the cash brought by G4S personnel.
The incident comes after four armed robbers raided another Equity Bank branch in Kisumu on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
The suspects, who disguised themselves as customers, lobbed teargas inside the bank premises before engaging in a gun battle with the police.
The four suspects later managed to escape. Equity Bank confirmed the incident but maintained that no cash was lost.
