Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Communications Director
Philip Etale has questioned Deputy President (DP) William Ruto over his
decision to buy sodas for Bungoma residents.
The DP had attended an interdenominational prayer service
with faithful from Pentecostal churches in Bumula Constituency led by Bishop
Godfrey Shiundu of the Reformed Catholic Church at Bumula DDC’s Grounds,
Bungoma County.
After the service, he mingled with residents and decided to
treat them to a soda fest at a local shop.
“Enjoyed a bottle of soda with fellow hustlers at Mama
Mary’s Ebenezer shop after a Sunday service in Bumula. May God bless Mama
Mary’s hustle,” the DP posted on Twitter.

Etale Disappointed by
DP Ruto’s Bungoma visit
Reacting to the DP’s Bungoma visit, Etale noted that members
of the Luhya community are despised by those in power.
According to Etale, when the DP visits other regions like Kiambu he donates equipment like wheelbarrows, boda bodas, salon gadgets among others to help jobless youth, but in Bungoma he decided to purchase soda for locals.
“Waluhya tunadharauliwa sana. Kiambu, Ruto anapeana tuk tuk,
mikokoteni and wheelbarrows, sisi kama jamii anatupea soda na ngumuu... isorait,”
he tweeted.
Reacting to the tweet, Elgeyo Markwet Senator Kipchumba
Murkomen, who is a close ally of the DP offered to donate 30 wheelbarrows to
less fortunate residents of Bungoma.
“At least unlike Baba you are not opposed to hustlers empowerment. Now please get in touch with your friend @EmmanuelTalam to guide you on how you can make some donation to hustlers in your village. Bring to me 30 needy youth I donate to them 30 wheelbarrows on Tuesday 29. Thanks,” he posted.
