The list of female deputy governors in the country has been growing.
In 2017, only seven female deputy governors were elected into office after 2017 elections.
This number has since grown to ten after three additional female Deputy Governors namely Ann Kananu (Nairobi County), Caroline Karugu (Nyeri County), and Joyce Wanjiku (Kiambu County).
Ms. Kananu and Wanjiku were appointed after the Impeachment of Ex-Governors Mike Sonko and Ferdinand Waititu, while Karugu was appointed after the death of the Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru.
The rest of the DGs in Kenya include Cecilia Mbuthia (Nyandarua), Evalyn Chepkirui (Narok), Susan Kikwai (Kericho), Delina Mlagui (Taita Taveta), Yulita Mitei (Nandi), Fatuma Achani (Kwale), and Adelina Mwau (Makueni)
