ODM leader Raila Odinga’s elder brother Oburu Odinga has said the former Prime Minister will be on the ballot come the 2022 General Election.
Speaking in Bungoma County during the burial of Governor Wycliffe Wangamati’s mother Selina Nasike, Oburu said since Raila is yet to serve as president, he cannot endorse anyone.
Addressing former National Super Alliance principals; Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Wetangula who called for Raila to endorse one of them for 2022 Presidency, Oburu noted that Raila will only endorse a presidential candidate after he has served as president.
He urged the former NASA principals to relinquish their 2022 presidential interests and back Odinga, adding that they’ll have better chances of ascending to power after the ODM leader vacates office, should he contest and win in 2022.

“Some leaders from Western region want Raila to retire from politics and endorse them. Raila can’t retire just yet since he has not ascended to the seat he has been fighting for. You can’t leave the presidency to non-starters.
“Raila will only give the presidency to any of the Luhya leaders after he has served his term,” Oburu said.
Meanwhile, the former NASA leaders have in the recent weeks been involved in an exchange of words, with Kalonzo, Mudavadi, and Wetangula accusing Raila of betraying and secluding them in his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
