Gina Din Group Director Lorna Irungu-Macharia has succumbed to Covid-19.
Irungu, who was also a media personality, has been a Lupus survivor for over 20 years and had undergone several kidney transplants.
Irungu was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2007. It started as an infection but advanced and into ailments.
“I no longer had the will to fight. I was scarred physically and mentally. Frankly, I’d had enough of life and all it had to offer,” Iriungu stated in a past interview.

She had her kidney transplant in 1998.
She is widely known for hosting the Omo pick a box show. In addition to Omo pick a box, she also hosted Club Kiboko between 1994 and 1999.
She was also a radio presenter at Nation FM where she hosted a show dubbed State of The Nation.
The late Irungu was also an entrepreneur and had a company dubbed Siwa communications which she's been running for the past 13 years.
She's left behind her husband; Edwin Macharia and a daughter.
