Sports and Youth Affairs Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has met with top benga maestros from the Luo Nyanza.

The CS in a tweet revealed that he had met sensational artists Tony Nyadundo, Prince Inda and representatives of Emma Jalamo at his office.

He divulged that the meeting aimed at taking the creative industry a notch higher.

"Beautiful moments spent with some of our top benga maestros, including the legendary Ohangla artist Tony Nyadundo, the electric Prince Inda and reps of Emma Jalamo. We are raising the bar for our creatives industry that holds the potential to employ our youth and drive up Kenya’s GDP," he tweeted.

Benga music is one of the most loved compositions in the country and is listened to by many Kenyans.

The sector employs hundreds of youths who eke a living through singing, dancing and playing instruments among others.

The meeting by the CS seems to be one of his many to spur the creative industry and encourage them to professionalize them.
