Three Ukambani region governors on Tuesday, December 13, met at the Machakos 'White House' for an inaugural post-2022 general election summit.
Governors Wavinya Ndeti (Machakos), Mutula Kilonzo Jr. (Makueni) and Julius Malombe (Kitui) met during the South Eastern Kenya Economic Bloc (SEKEB) summit and agreed to work together.
In a statement by Governor Ndeti, the summit was an important milestone for the Ukambani people as the three resolved to together pursue the social and economic interests of the bloc.
"Today the three Governors of Kitui, Makueni and Machakos have come together for the inaugural post 2022 general election summit meeting held in Machakos County.
"This is an important milestone for Ukambani and the three Governors have resolved to work together to pursue social and economic interest of the Bloc," Wavinya tweeted.

The post-election summit comes as the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) held a Post-Election Evaluation (PEE) Stakeholders Dialogue Forum on Tuesday.
The forum sought to document experiences and evaluate lessons learnt from the August general election to propose areas for improvement in strategic planning.
"We appreciate the support from the development partners in helping IEBC deliver on its Constitutional mandate. Your support in voter education, electoral operations, legal reforms, ICT & Communication helped us deliver the #GE2022,” IEBC Deputy CEO Obadiah Keitany said.
