The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji through his office has broken his silence following a robbery incident at his house in Riverside, Nairobi.

In a tweet on Friday, August 5, the DPP clarified that the robbery incident took place at his residence and not in his office.

Haji further stated that his office does not collect or store any evidence of any nature, adding that the investigation into the incident is currently underway.

“The DPP would like to clarify that there was a robbery at his residence, not his office, and investigations are ongoing. The ODPP, as a Prosecuting Authority, doesn’t collect or store evidence of any nature. Members of the public & media are urged not to politicize this incident,” the ODPP tweeted.

In the Friday incident, the thieves made away with electronics and personal effects among them a TV set, a laptop, and assorted shoes.

The DPP was not home during the incident and according to the officers guarding the residence, they did not hear anything.

Nairobi Regional Police Commander James Mugera has since visited the scene and said they are in pursuit of the criminals.

The residence is currently under patrol by the police who are questioning workers and security officers for more information.
