President William Ruto has assigned Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi new roles in the latest changes to his administration.
In Executive Order No. 1 of 2023, the Head of State appointed Rigathi Gachagua to take charge of the coffee sector reforms.
The second in command will also head the Nairobi Rivers Commission, putting him in charge of the Kenya Kwanza government’s campaigns to clean rivers in the Capital City.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on the other hand has been assigned to assist the President and the Deputy President in the coordination and supervision of Government Ministries and State Departments.

He will also be in charge of the formulation and execution of government development programmes.
Mudavadi’s other roles include Chairing the Principal Secretaries’ Committees and to supervise the technical monitoring and evaluation of Government policies, programs, and projects.
In other changes, President William Ruto Moved the National Youth Service (NYS) from the Ministry of Sports to the Ministry of Public Service.
The first in command also moved the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to the Ministry of Transport.
Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta had on 2019 moved NTSA to the Ministry of Interior and National Coordination.
The latest changes come after President Ruto held a cabinet retreat in Nanyuki that brought together top government officials.
