Siaya Governor James Orengo has asked President William Ruto to have a sitting with Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking during ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo’s homecoming ceremony on Saturday, January 14 in Siaya, Orengo explained that the move would unite the country following last year’s general election.
“Mr. President I ask you in the spirit not of the handshake but in the spirit of togetherness. I urge you to sit together on the table of brotherhood with your brother Raila Amolo Odinga because the elections are over,” Orengo asked Ruto.

He also revealed that the former Prime Minister asked him to welcome President Ruto to Siaya County.
“I spoke to Raila Amolo Odinga and he said that I should pass to you his word of welcome and that you should feel at home,” Governor Orengo added.
His remarks come a day after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua revealed that the Kenya Kwanza government is taking care of the opposition leader.
“We have no problem with Baba and the election period ended. We only had a problem when looking for power. Baba is respected in our government, President William Ruto is catering for his cars and security because he is a Kenyan leader,” Gachagua said on Friday, January 13 in Homa Bay.
