Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati has threatened to sue Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga over claims that he visited his house before announcing the 2022 presidential election results.
Chebukati has given the former Prime Minister seven days ultimatum to produce video evidence of him in his house or face a legal suit.
Raila Odinga on Sunday, January 29 claimed that the former IEBC Chairman visited his home alongside former commissioners Abdi Guliye and Boya Molu.
"Bwana Chebukati anasema kuna watu ambao walikuwa wanataka kumhonga yeye. Hata wale wenzake Bwana Guliye na Bwana Molu. Nataka niwaulize hao mlienda jumba ya baba kufanya nini? Waliniomba nini? Wajue ya kwamba mimi niko na picha yao wakicheza nitatoa," Raila said during a rally at Jacaranda grounds in Nairobi.

President Ruto on Monday questioned the allegations and asked the ODM leader why he did not report the visit to the police or use it as evidence during the presidential petition at the Supreme Court.
“I was listening yesterday to one of our politicians who was alleging that members of the IEBC went to his house and his telling this story five months after the act and his volunteering this information least with insinuations that the officials had gone there for something he has not disclosed.
“It begs the question if it is true what were these officials doing in your house at your invitation? Being a candidate how did you end up inviting officials of an independent body to your house? It also begs the question, you had an opportunity to bring up this evidence of alleged bribery before seven judges of the Supreme Court you did not,” Ruto wondered.
