Deputy President William Ruto has hit back after a headline by the Daily Nation claims there is a plot to take him down.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, his Amani National Congress (ANC) counterpart Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya boss Moses Wetangula held a meeting at a hotel in Athi River, Machakos County where they agreed to work together ahead of the 2022 polls.
Addressing the meeting, Mudavadi accused DP Ruto of being part of the problems affecting the country.
He said it was wrong for Ruto to lie to Kenyans that he could help rescue them from the problems the country’s economy was grappling with.

“You are responsible for every mess in this country, ranging from high taxation, massive retrenchment, ballooning foreign debt, corruption and other policies that have impoverished this country,” Mudavadi said.
In a response, DP Ruto said he was consolidating a movement that isn't focused on tribes but the whole nation that will strengthen the economy.
"As the hustler nation matches forward to consolidate a united tribeless nation focused on a new economic model where every hustler matter anchored on equal opportunity, others are stuck marketing the failed, tired vision less ethnic chieftainship as an alternative. How miserable," the DP's statement read.
