Kisii Governor Simba Arati has advised President William Ruto not to bother with the Azimio anti-government protests.
Speaking on Friday, March 24 during a rally in Kisii, Governor Arati told the Head of State to look at the protests from afar.
“Your excellence wewe ni rais wa Jamuhuri ya Kenya, na unajua sasa uko kule juu, watu wakinyoroshana hapa chini wakifanya maandamano wewe angalia kutoka mbali,” said Arati.
The ODM Governor at the same time differed with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua retired leaders from the region being given state jobs.
Arati urged President Ruto to instead hand the jobs to the youth who are the majority.

“Hawa wazee Ongwae na Jimmy Ongwae wamekula chumvi kuna vijana wadogo tafadhali. Tuko tayari kupea hawa wazeekitu kidogo wanunue dawa lakini kazi ambayo utahitaji kwa miaka tano ndio uchaguliwe tena pea vijana,” Arati added.
Gachagua had earlier asked the Kisii locals if President Ruto should give former Kitutu Chache MP Jimmy Angwenyi a state job.
"Na huyu mzee wetu Jimmy Angwenyi tuangalie mambo yake tumsaidie? bora asiende kuweka sufuria kwa kichwa kwa sababu ni mzee na mtu wa heshima ni wangapi wanasema Rais asaidie huyu mzee wetu Jimmy Angwenyi? He posed.
