Singer Kevin Bahati has defected from the Azimio la Umoja coalition to the United Democratic Party (UDA).
Speaking on Wednesday, April 12 at the UDA headquarters in Nairobi, Bahati claimed that he was being mistreated in Azimio.
He however expressed confidence that he will clinch the Mathare parliamentary seat in the 2027 general elections under a UDA ticket.

Bahati at the same time revealed that President William Ruto was among the people who supported him when he wanted to run for the Mathare MP seat.
Kutoka saa hii nimesoma, nimeelewa na as a prodigal son nimerudi nyumbani,” he added.
Bahati lost the Mathare seat during the August 2022 general election after he finished in third place after ODM’s Antony Oluoch and Billian Ojiwa who vied under the UDA party.
