The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has appointed John Muteti as an Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
NACADA board chairperson Stephen Mairori in a statement on Tuesday, May 16 stated that Muteti’s appointment took effect on Monday, May 15.
“The Chairperson of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) wishes to announce the appointment of Prof. John Muteti as the Authority’s Acting Chief Executive Officer with effect from Monday 15th May 2023,” read the statement in part.
Mairori expressed confidence in Muteti performing exemplary saying he will be instrumental in steering the Authority’s mandate as he brings to the table a wealth of over thirty years’ experience from the academia, private and public sectors.

Muteti holds a Doctorate degree in Strategic Management from Nelson Mandela University, South Africa, a Master's degree in Economics and Social Studies from the University of Manchester, UK, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Studies from Victorian University, Manchester.
He also boasts a Post Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Bradford University, UK and a degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi.
