The Orange Democratic Party (ODM) has apologized to Ruaraka Member of Parliament Tom John (TJ) Kajwanga over listing him among the ODM MPs who will face disciplinary action over their conduct during the second reading of the Finance Bill 2023.
In a statement on Tuesday, June 20, ODM stated that Kajwang’s name was erroneously included in the list.
“We also take this opportunity to apologize to Hon. Tom Joseph Kajwang whose name was erroneously included in our statement of 15th June 2023,” the party stated.
The Raila Odinga-led party at the same time noted that seventeen MPs have replied to cause letters that were issued to them regarding their conduct during the second reading of the Bill.
The MPs include; John Mbadi, Eve Obara, Joyce Bensouda, Paul Abuor, Elisha Odhiambo, Adow Mohamed, Ester Passaris, Caroli Omondi, Babu Owino and George Aladwa.

Others include; Johnson Naicca, Kakuta Maimai, Irene Mayaka, Peter Oscar Nabulindo, Christopher Aseka, Tindi Mwale and Samuel Parashina.
The party stated that the disciplinary committee is processing the responses from the MPs and will inform them of the verdict later.
“The responses so far received are being processed in accordance with Rule 11 of the ODM Disciplinary Committee (Practice and Procedure) Rules, 2022 and the affected members will be informed of the verdict in due course,” ODM stated.
The opposition party further noted that thirteen MPs are yet to reply to show cause letters sent to them.
The MPs include; Gideon Ochanda, Joseph Oyula, Otiende Amollo, John Ariko Namoit, Paul Nabuin, Said Buya Hiribae, Mohamed Abdikadir Hussein, Titus Khamala, Wilberforce Oundo, Mark Nyamita, Daniel Manduku, Phelix Odiwuor and Fatuma Masito.
