Nominated Senator Issac Mwaura has addressed claims that he influenced Muranga senator Irungu Kang'ata to leak a controversial letter on the BBI Bill.
On Tuesday, National Assembly Majority Leader Amos Kimunya claimed that his senate counterpart was pushed by Mwaura.
In his letter, Irungu claimed that the Mt. Kenya region will not support the BBI report.
Kimunya further claimed that Irungu's inexperience and attention-seeking pushed him to write the letter considering that he can reach the President in person.
However, speaking on Thursday morning, Mwaura stated that he has no role in the letter's leaking despite being friends with Irungu.

"Irungu my brother did what he did...and nobody is disputing the contents. People are saying he was under inducement from someone, it is his own making. There is nothing like that," said Mwaura.
Mwaura maintained that the BBI is very unpopular, and it was the doing of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga as they did not sell the document.
Meanwhile, Kang'ata has since apologized for how the letter went public, saying it was leaked by a third party.
Senator Kang'ata, however, maintains that the issues in the letter are substantive, adding that he hopes they will be remedied.
"Kindly though the letter dated 30th December is authentic, I didn't give it to the media. Someone else who had been copied did. I apologise for that. With the benefit of hindsight. I should have copied no one else. Trust substantive issues raised in the letter will be remedied," said the Senate Majority Whip on Monday.
