Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has praised his supporters who stood firm on Friday, July 7 during the Saba Saba protests in Nairobi.
Speaking at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation, Raila stated that the youth who were following his convoy made it possible for him to maneuver and enter the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) for the first time.
The opposition leader said that making entry into the CBD was a big achievement for Azimio during the Friday protests.
“Vijana leo wamenifurahisha kabisa, wamefanya kazi mzuri.

The Azimio leader had earlier asked his supporters to match to Central Park near the Serena Hotel while chanting, “We are tired”.
The CBD was, however, a no-go zone as the heavily armed anti-riot police officers prevented motorists and pedestrians from getting access to the CBD.
Those who attempted to force their entry into the CBD were teargassed while others were arrested.
