We will see looting on an industrial scale if he doesn't recover every penny stolen by Uhuru's ministers - Ahmednassir Abdullahi.

Lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi has predicted a wanton dissipation of public funds in President William Ruto's government if measures are not put in place to curb the vice.

Ahmednassir noted that the massive looting of public resources witnessed in retired president Uhuru Kenyatta's tenure might sneak into Ruto's regime if not tamed on a good time.

For Ruto to secure the public coffers from 'predators', the lawyer advises that he (Ruto) reclaims the monies lost in the immediate former administration.

Lest the looting in the current regime will outdo the one in Uhuru's, the lawyer suggested.

"Monday is 1st week of H. E Ruto's Cabinet & I state for the record:To stop looting of public funds by his Ministers/others (I.e Governors) Ruto must recover every penny stolen by UHURU's Ministers/others (I.e Governor). If he doesn't, we will see looting on an industrial scale," he said.

The senior counsel recently defended the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji over his decision to withdraw cases, among them graft, in which top-ranking politicians were implicated.

He exonerated Haji from the blame saying Uhuru's administration is the one to blame for the mess.

Ahmednassir alleged that many senior state officers were coerced into signing resignation letters that were deposited with the National Intelligence Service.

Nairobi Leo could however not independently authentic the claims made by the lawyer.

"Kenyans are so unfair to DPP Haji. Don't they know President Uhuru forced ALL holders of important constitutional offices to pen undated resignation letters & deposited the original with the Director General of NIS? Uhuru destroyed all institutions. Now we have a chance to rebuild," the Lawyer said in a tweet.

The remarks come hot on the heels of criticism the DPP has received for withdrawing cases filed against top politicians who appear aligned to President William Ruto.

The DPP withdrew the Sh19 million graft charges on Wednesday morning against former Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa.

The former Malindi MP was accused of alleged embezzlement of CDF funds between May 14 and October 12, 2018.

A sh400 million corruption case against former Kenya Power MD Ben Chumo and 10 others was also withdrawn.

Chumo had been charged alongside Muwa Company Limited, its director, wife and son. Their case was withdrawn on March 22.

Haji had also sought to withdraw Sh84 million graft charges against former Samburu governor Moses Lenolkulal. The court however blocked the prayer.

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has also raised concerns over the cancellations and called on the Judiciary to get valid and reasonable explanations regarding the actions
