Former Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has commended Co-operatives, Micro Small, and Medium Enterprises Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui for his work.
In a statement via his X account on Thursday September 14, Balala siad CS Chelugui is doing an excellent job financing poor Kenyans to come out of poverty.
“Waziri, 'kinga nenda', you are doing an excellent job in financing the poor to come out of poverty,” said Balala.
The former CS was reacting to Chelugui’s statement that he is focusing to change the lives of Kenyans and will not be swayed by opinion polls.
“I am committed to fulfilling my responsibilities as assigned by H. E President William Ruto to make a meaningful impact in my role and change the lives of the Kenyans. My focus is the job at hand rather than getting swayed by opinion polls, which can sometimes be subjective and may not accurately reflect true priorities/ Kenya Kwanza Government's goals,” Chelugui stated.

In a new survey released on Tuesday September 12, CS Chelugui was ranked among the CSs who has a rating of D in the last ten months they have been in office. Chelugui managed an average of 49 percent according to the survey.
infoTrak listed Interiro CS Kithure Kindiki as the most performing CS in Ruto’s government at 59 percent followed by Education CS Exekiel Macjogu at 55 percent.
Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen, Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi, and Health CS Susan Nakhumicha tied in the third spot with a rating of 53 percent.
