Activist Okiya Omtatah has moved to court after the Nairobi County Assembly was allowed to vet nominated Deputy Governor Anne Mwenda.
Omtatah filed a complaint on Friday against Justice Antony, Mrima, who approved the vetting of Mwenda.
Justice Mrima declined to issue orders barring the Nairobi County Assembly from vetting Mwenda.
On Friday morning, Justice Anthony Mrima dismissed two applications filed by activist Okiya Omtatah and another, paving the way for Nairobi ward reps to vet Kananu for deputy governor.
Justice Mrima had set the ruling time to stop the process at 8 am today before the County assembly sessions kicked-off.

This is after hearing two applications filed by activist Okiya Omtatah and Habil Kongo (an aspiring governor) challenging Kananu’s vetting slated to take place Friday.
Omtatah had asked the court not to allow the vetting to take place.
He had asked the court to declare Kananu ineligible to be vetted, appointed, or sworn into office as the Deputy Governor of Nairobi City County and, subsequently, as the governor.
However, following the dismissal, the county assembly vetted Mwenda in a record time. She is destined to become the next Nairobi governor after being sworn.
