United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malalah now says he will talk to Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale to solve issues between them.
Speaking on Wednesday, October 18 at the UDA headquarters, Malalah said Khalwale is his political father and he respects him.
“We are keen to sort out any conflicts amicably. Boni Khalwale, we emanate from the same village, I will sip a cup of porridge in the evening talk to him, and get to know what he feels because he is my political father, I respect him so much and we will be able to sort our issues,” said Malalah.
The UDA SG went on to say he is yet to receive Khalwale’s petition against him over the appointment of regional and county managers.
“I share a WhatsApp group with Boni Khalwale and I saw that thing on the group but am yet to receive that petition. When it comes to the secretariat, we will adjudicate using the mechanisms of the party. We are a democratic party and everybody has a right to petition,” Malalah added.

Khalwale on October 12 filed a petition claiming Malalah appointed regional and county managers without any evidence of consultations with other relevant party organs.
The lawmaker in his petition observed that Malalah had overstepped its mandate and that the appointments were unprocedural and tainted by open favoritism to his friends.
He requested the disciplinary committee to issue an injunction restraining Malalah from undertaking his role as the UDA Secretary General until the matter is heard and determined.
