Thousands of Kenyans on Friday, October 20 thronged into Kericho Green stadium for the Mashujaa Day celebrations.
The locals began to make their way to the stadium as early as 1 am into the stadium.
There were long queues as the residents awaited clearance from security before being allowed into the Kericho Green stadium.
As of 6 a.m., the stadium was full to capacity with still a huge crowd outside the venue.
President William Ruto is expected to make his way into the stadium at 10 a.m. to lead the country in the 60th Mashujaa Day celebrations.
The Head of State will also officially launch the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) after he signed four bills into law on Thursday at State House.
Ruto will then flag off one hundred thousand Community Health Volunteers to their allocated areas across the country to serve Kenyans.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday said the Mashujaa Day Celebrations will start early to avoid unnecessary disruptions that may be caused by rain.
"We will start early because of the rain. As we have seen, this rain can disrupt us, so arrive early, get seats at the front so that you can watch what will be happening there,” said Gachagua.

The Kericho Green stadium has a capacity of 10,000 and underwent upgrading in the past few weeks so as to host the Mashujaa Day Celebrations.
According to Sports CS Ababu Namwamba, the upgrading of the stadium cost the government Ksh 400 million.
