The DPP on Wednesday filed for the removal of a case pitting the deputy President and nine others.

Popular activist Boniface Mwangi has now asked the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji to quit office.

In response to a move by the DPP Noordin Haji to withdraw a case against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, the activist said the DPP has failed on his mandate.

He opined that the several cases withdrawn since President William Ruto took power have proved that he does not fit the ball to hold the office of the DPP.

"Testifying against an influential person in Kenya can be a death sentence. Noordin should resign and let his successor make these embarrassing withdrawals. Going by the number of cases he has withdrawn since William became president, he has become a disgrace to the 0ffice of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP)," he wrote on Facebook.

The DPP on Wednesday filed for the removal of a case pitting the deputy President and nine others.

The 9 are William Wahome Mwangi, Grace Wambui Kariuki, Lawrence Kimaru, Irene Wambui Ndigiriri, David Reuben Nyangi Nguru, Anne Nduta Ruo, Julianne Jahenda Makaa, Samuel Murimi Ireri, and M/S Rapid Medical Supplies Ltd.

Gachagua and the 9 accused are alleged to have siphoned Sh7.3 billion in public money.

The DPP however says there is no sufficient evidence to charge the accused and as such, the case should be withdrawn.
