15 people have been pronounced dead following a fatal road accident at Twins Bridge area along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
The accident occurred on Tuesday, January 9, at around 2:00 am involving a bus and a fourteen-seater matatu.
"15 people have died in a road traffic crash this night of 9/1/2024 at about 0245 hrs at Twin Bridge area along Nakuru _ Eldoret, involving a bus belonging to Classic Kings of Congo and North Ways Shuttle Toyota matatu," the National Police Service announced.
Several others were left nursing serious injuries and were rushed to the Molo Sub-County Hospital.
Following the accident, the police service deployed officers from Mau Summit Police Station to respond to the scene of the accident.

The cause of the accident was not immediately established by the police warned motorists to exercise caution on the road.
"The National Police Service is appealing to all motorists to exercise extreme caution on our roads to prevent road crashes."
However, Kenyans raised concern over the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway which has claimed several lives recently.
On Saturday, January 6, a grisly road accident involving four vehicles on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway claimed one life and left several passengers injured.
The collision, which occurred at approximately 5:00 AM near the Mustard area, involved three Isuzu vehicles and a Mercedes Benz trailer.
On Thursday, January 4, five people including a police officer were killed in a road accident in the Mlango Kubwa area along the Nakuru –Eldoret highway.
Koibatek sub-county police commander Joseph Ongaya confirmed that the accident involved three public vehicles including Easy Coach Bus, Promise Bus, and Classic Matatu that were heading in the Nakuru direction.
Following the accidents, Kenyans have asked the police to intensify operations along the highway.
