Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has started popularising his 2027 Presidential bid by revealing some of the first actions he would take after clinching the seat.
Through a statement dated Tuesday, January 30, Kalonzo announced that his first Executive Order would repeal the contentious Housing Levy.
He argued that the money being collected would be used for unintended purposes.
"As President, my first Executive Order will be to repeal the Housing Levy, which is a Slush Fund," Kalonzo made it clear.

His stance came days after he welcomed the Court of Appeal ruling on the housing levy. Speaking on Friday, Kalonzo said that the ruling has boosted his faith in the Judiciary.
“The Court of Appeal judgment ruling the Housing Levy unconstitutional strengthens my faith in the rule of law. This Slash Fund has imposed a burden on already overburdened Kenyans. I expect the illegal deduction to be refunded immediately,” he said.
Kalonzo's response followed the Court of Appeal decision that declined to suspend orders barring the state from deducting housing levy from Kenyans.
The appellate judges Lydia Achode, John Mativo and Mwaniki Gachoka said if they affirm the constitutional invalidity of the challenged laws, then some far-reaching decisions that will have been undertaken may not be reversed.
President Ruto vowed to forge on with his legacy project despite court orders.
However, Kalonzo has capitalised on the ruling to popularise his presidential ambition. Although he has fully been endorsed by Azimio la Umoja, the Wiper Party already fronted him as their Presidential Candidate for the 2027 race.
Wiper argued that Kalonzo has the muscles to unseat President Ruto in 2027.
Led by the party’s Secretary General Shakila Abdala and Matungulu MP Stephen Mule, they expressed confidence that Musyoka’s fellow Azimio la Umoja One Kenya co-principals will back his candidature.
