Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made an appeal to development partners and other firms over the payment of bills at his Karen Official Residence.
Speaking on Wednesday, April 17, Gachagua indicated that he has been left to clear the bills after various organisations hold meetings at the Karen Residence.
Unlike in hotels and other restaurants where the organisations pay to hold their meetings, Gachagua noted that the different groups meeting at Karen Residence leave the bills to him.
On a light note, the Second in Command pointed out that he is ready to negotiate with different groups holding the meetings at Karen Residence to help him clear the bills.

"There are many places you can meet outside Naivasha and Mombasa including here. The only problem is that when you go to Naivasha and Mombasa you pay the bills. But when you come here, you leave the bills to me," he stated while smiling amidst laughter.
So I'm willing at a fee that is negotiated to hold meetings here so that you also don't leave me struggling with bills," he added.
Nonetheless, he encouraged the United Nations (UN) to continue engaging the government for key issues. Gachagua indicated that their support has helped the government, especially during drought and other calamities in the country.
Gachagua announced that Kenya is at the advanced stage of making Nairobi a diplomatic centre to deepen relations.
"We are very excited by the ongoing progress to enhance the UN presence in this country by enlarging the facilities at Gigiri so that the UN can be very strong in the global south here in Nairobi. Nairobi is as safe as New York and Geneva," he remarked.
Moreover, he challenged retiring UN officials to consider making Kenya their home.
