"What are we going to talk about that hasn't been talked about before?"

Azimio leader Raila Odinga has faced criticism from a section of Kenyans after he told the young people that dialogue would bring reforms they were fighting for.

In a statement on Sunday, July 21, Raila, spelled out conditions for the government, including compensation for victims of police brutality and dismissal of all protest-related cases, before there could be any talks.

The former Prime Minister maintained that he was standing with the young people, adding that justice should come before dialogue.

"I agree that justice must come first before any talks. Towards this end, I stand with you. To the young people of Kenya, you all must know that I am deeply moved by your dedication to the cause; and I believe a structured dialogue will bring the reforms you are fighting for and safe guard Kenya for your future," Raila remarked.

However, his remarks did not sit well with a section of Kenyans online who were quick to share their views.

Raila Odinga.

A section of netizens were of the opinion that dialogue was not the way to go because nothing was going to be discussed that had not been discussed before.

However, some netizens agreed with Raila, asserting that a national dialogue convention was a good idea.
