Ten passengers have narrowly escaped death after their plane was involved in an accident on Monday, September 16.
The aircraft belonging to Z.Boskovic Air Charters Limited veered off the runway while taking off at Lichota Airstrip in Migori.
In a statement, the company said the accident happened at around 12: 30 PM and the plane was carrying 10 passengers and one crew member.
The company confirmed that there were no fatalities or injuries after the incident.
“At approximately 12:30 PM today, we received notification that our aircraft, registration number 5Y-ZBW, was involved in a major incident during takeoff in Migori.

“The aircraft was carrying 10 passengers and one crew member at the time of the incident. We are relieved to confirm that there were no fatalities or injuries reported,” read the statement in part.
At the same time, the company said it has engaged authorities to help in investigating the incident adding that further updates on the accident would be provided.
“We have engaged the relevant authorities to support the investigation of the incident and are closely monitoring the incident. Further updates will be provided if more information becomes available,” the company added.
The incident comes months after two planes collided at Nairobi National Park, leaving two people dead.
The accident involved a Dash 8 plane owned by Safari Link, bound for Diani with 44 passengers and crew, and a Cessna plane on a training session.
The Safarilink plane was forced to turn back to Wilson Airport after the collision and all the passengers and crew on board were evacuated safely.
