Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has stated that he will quit constituency politics once he fulfills his promise of renovating all primary schools in his constituency to secondary school status by 2025.
In a statement on Thursday, December 1, the vocal lawmaker said that he has presided over the construction of 25 classrooms with storey buildings in 25 out of 60 primary schools in his constituency.
Barasa further said that he built eight new classrooms in 10 primary schools and renovated the buildings in 12 primary schools in Kimilili.
He added that he was only left with 10 primary schools with structures built in the 1980s, maintaining that the resumption of the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) will help him achieve the promise.

"With the resumption of NGCDF, my promise is to renovate all primary schools to secondary status, tile and landscape them by 2025. Once this is achieved, I will quit constituency politics," Barasa stated.
The MP further lauded the government's decision on Thursday to domicile junior secondary schools in primary schools.
"I am a happy man after Government Decision to Domicile junior Secondary Schools in Primary School because like an Eagle, I foresaw this," he added.
Barasa is serving his second term as the MP for Kimilili after being re-elected in the August general election on a UDA ticket.
